Emily is the Head Veterinary Surgeon at Nine Lives. Emily graduated from the Royal Veterinary College, London in 2001 and after 4 years working in private practice decided to open Nine Lives Veterinary Centre. Emily has enjoyed seeing Nine Lives grow into a successful and caring practice.
Emily has particular intests in feline and exotic medicine and since opening the practice, has created a superb first opinion and referral service in exotic medicine and surgery.
At home, Emily lives with husband Andy and their dogs (Charlie and Rosie), cats (Stanley and Pretty), tortoises (Marian and Geoff) and an array of chickens. In her spare time she enjoys looking after the hoard and is an avid gardener.

Rachel is a Veterinary Surgeon at the practice. She qualified from the Royal Veterinary College in 2008 and came to Nine Lives shortly after graduating. At university she took electives in exotic and zoological medicine and carried out two research projects at Whipsnade zoo.
Rachel is an enthusiatic surgeon and enjoys performing a variety of surgical procedures including soft tissue, orthopaedic and exotic operations. She has recently completed the General Practioners Certificate in Exotic Animal Practice and enjoys seeing a variety of birds, reptiles and small mammals.
Rachel lives with her boyfriend Tim and pets, Lenny, Puss and Tortellini. She loves running with her dog, and socialising with family and friends in her spare time. She also enjoys watching Saracens and England play rugby.

Joy is a Veterinary Surgeon at the practice. She started work at Nine Lives after qualifying from the Royal Veterinary College in 2011. At university Joy carried out research into conformation-related disorders in pedigree dogs. She also wrote for the Veterinary Times and won the EU Animal Health essay competition and travelled to Stockholm to discuss her work.
Joy is very knowledgable in small animal medicine and particuarly enjoys endocrinology. She has supported and educated many owners on how best to cope on living with an animal with a chronic disease. She also enjoys diagnostic imaging and is keen to develop her skills in ultrasonography.
Joy lives at home with her husband Luke and pets Henry and Dougie. If she is not busy socialising, she can be found walking Henry or curled up with a book.

Katherine is the Head Veterinary Nurse at Nine Lives. Katherine began her career by acheiving a diploma in animal care at Oaklands college, St Albans. She then went on to train as a veterinary nurse with a local practice, where once qualified, she continued to work for two years. Together with Emily, she helped set up the practice in 2005 after previously working together.
Katherine is particuarly interested in exotic husbandry and anaesthesia and plays an important role in the practice in educating owners of how to care for a variety of exotic species now kept as pets. She also enjoys feline medicine and radiography.
At home, Katherine helps look after her family's small hold. She has two cats, Weaner and Marv, and a tortoise called Lolly. Katherine is a big Aston Villa fan and bakes lots of cakes to keep the team at work happy.

Tracey is the Deputy Head Veterinary Nurse at the practice. She qualified from Massey University, New Zealand and worked in the UK as a locum before taking on a position as a head veterinary nurse at a practice in Ireland. Tracey returned to New Zealand for a short period to get married before starting work at Nine Lives in January 2009.
Tracey is keen on preventative medicine and is particuarly good at advising owners on dental care in their dogs and cats. She is very intested in emergency medicine and critical care and is enjoying learning more about exotic medicine.
Tracey lives with her husband Ed and cats, Brian and Geoffrey. She plays netball in a local league where she also helps train other members in the club. She enjoys following the NZ rugby premiership and playing poker.

Carrie is a trainee Veterinary Nurse at Nine Lives. Carrie started at the practice on a short work experience placement with the local college. After her placement she finished her National Certificate in Animal Management and Chemistry A Level before being offered a trainee position at Nine Lives, enabling her to go to college two days a week and work the rest.
Carrie is very knowledgable in reptile husbandry and enjoys observing and helping with the reptile medicine and surgery. She is also very good at dealing with clients and keeping up team morale.
Carrie lives with her daughter, Isabelle, and together they help foster many animals that come through the practice. She also enjoys socialising and reading.

Sian completed her National Diploma in Animal Management at Oaklands College. She was offered a trainee position at the practice after impressing the team whilst on placement. She is currently in her second year of her Veterinary Nursing Diploma at the College of Animal Welfare and works at Nine Lives part time, as part of her Diploma.
Sian is enjoying learning more of the practical side of veterinary nursing and thoroughly enjoys working in theatre.
Sian enjoys socialising with her friends, when she is not busy studying. She lives at home with her family and dog, Roger. She also has two rabbits Wotsit and Bobby.

Holly is currently studying her Veterinary Nursing Diploma at the College of Animal Welfare in Huntingdon. She works at the practice 3 days a week and travels home to attend college. After completing a degree in Interior Architechture and Design, Holly worked in industry for a year before choosing a career change to veterinary nursing.
Holly has embraced the change and is thoroughly enjoying her the everyday challenges of being a busy veterinary nurse. She particuarly likes working with chronically ill patients and has demonstrated her skills in longterm patient care.
Holly lives with her boyfriend Ben but travels back to Lincolnshire for college. At home, Holly enjoys riding her horse Jack and walking her Newfoundland-cross Willow.

Natasha is a trainee veterinary nurse at Nine Lives. She completed a Diploma in Animal Mangement at Oaklands College before being offered a trainee position at Nine Lives.
Natasha is fantastic at dealing with the general public and is enjoying helping with nursing clinics and educating clients on preventative veterinary medicine.
When she is not busy studying, Natasha has a busy social life and enjoys looking after and riding her horse, Alfie.

Lindsey has worked as a veterinary nursing assistant for around six years. She worked at a previous practice with Emily and Katherine and was keen to help out at Nine Lives after the practice was up and running. She completed the first year of her nursing course before taking on a variety of animals at home in need of care.Lindsey enjoys assisting the vets and veterinary nurses and also works at reception.
Currently Lindsey looks after her dog Islay, a number of horses, chickens, and small mammals. She is very knowledgable in poultry husbandry and management and enjoys caring for wildlife.
When Lindsey is not caring for animals she attends a carpentry course and enjoys reading. She has also recently passed her first equestrian instructor qualification.

Julie has been a receptionist at the surgery since 2007. Julie and her husband moved to the area to help with the practice and be close to their daughter, head vet Emily. Since starting at the practice Julie has managed the accounts and is one of our receptionists. She plays a vital role in making sure things run smoothly and looking after everyone.
Julie pays special attention to spoiling practice cat Mr Tabs!
At home Julie lives with husband Clive and their well loved cat, Mikey. She also enjoys dog sitting Emily's two terriers and spending time with her daughters and sisters.

Anne came to Nine Lives in 2007 to work on reception. Her daughter, Katherine is the Head Nurse at the practice. As well as keeping clients happy and making sure reception runs smoothly, Anne has a great sense of humour and helps keep team smiling.
Anne lives at home with her dog Twesel, cat Sparky and a number of chickens. Anne has rehomed a number of animals from the practice including Sparky and the chickens. Her house is a great haven for animals that need a home. In her spare time she enjoys horse riding and racing. She is also a great skier.
